About our community:
During the tragic Stolen Generations, Aboriginal children were removed from all over Victoria, Tas, SA, WA, NSW, QLD and NT, and placed in five Ballarat orphanages. Our diverse community, many of whom are impacted by trans-generational trauma, includes Traditional Owners Waddawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung, and people from many different Aboriginal nations and Country.
Together, they created and grew BADAC, which exists to support Aboriginal people towards health and self-determination. BADAC is proud to value diversity and is Rainbow Tick accredited.
Aboriginal Youth Programs
Many people don’t realise that The Gap exists in the Ballarat region too. Aboriginal children and youth experience high rates of family violence, housing insecurity, poverty, poor health and early school leaving.
Please give
$3,000 will equip Aboriginal children & youth with dance outfits and track suits to keep them warm before and after dancing (its chilly in Ballarat!)

$8,000 will provide dance outfits PLUS Aboriginal dance workshops, such as Indigenous Hip Hop, to skill up and inspire our children and youth.

Elders Independent Living Village:
Support Aboriginal Elders to age with dignity
Many of our Stolen Generation Elders dread returning to an institution as they age. Our Elders have spent a lifetime contributing to their community. Many have won awards: Order of Australia, Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll, Seniors awards.

BADAC has secured Victorian government funding to build an Elders Independent Living Village on a large block in a quiet street in Ballarat’s CBD. Our community worked with us to create the designs.
Your donation, no matter how small, will enable our Elders to age with dignity in a culturally vibrant Independent Living Village.
